About Los Rodriguez
This is probably the most delicious coffee we bought from Bolivia, Geisha is considered a rare variety even though it can be found across many coffee country's producers these days. However the Geisha coffee from Los Rodriguez has a curious story.
The Geisha become very popular through La Hacienda Esmeralda in Panama in the early 2000s, the farm has rediscovered this variety of arabica coffee, and although the origin of this variety is Ethiopia the Geisha coffee is always related to Central America country.
In 2004 La Hacienda Esmeralda entered this variety into a competition 'Best of Panama' and they won it, subsequently the coffee was put into an auction and had a record price set for it, consequently Geisha variety became one of the most desirable coffees and the most expensive too.
The curious thing about the Los Rodriguez Geisha variety is the origin of it, Pedro Rodriguez became really good friends with the La Hacienda Esmeralda family who kindly gifted him with their Geisha seeds, Pedro then start cultivating it in his estates in Bolivia and achieved amazing results.
Geisha is well-known for its aromatic and fruity characteristics, also a very complex coffee we are happy to share with you all.
