About El Zafiro
Paradise
The El Zafairo farm, a complete paradise, is located very close to Popayan city in the south-west of Colombia in Cauca region at an altitude of around 2000 MASL. Nancy Maca with her husband Oscar and her father Ceferino, produce outstanding coffees. The farm has won several awards for the excellence of their coffee.
The Maca Family
The Maca family is actually an indigenous family native to this land. They have maintained this farm for generations as part of their family heritage. Here, they grow mostly Castillo variety, but also, exotic coffees, including Geisha, Wush Wush, Typica and Bourbon varietals. The farm has rich volcanic soils and is located along a small river which gives this land a particular microclimate and a very unique terroir. Their coffee is now catalogued worldwide by connoisseurs as one of the coffees with most potential in the specialty coffee market.
